You can't expect them to make raise a beefed version of the same dino take less time. So if you think about the time it takes to tame a Rex under normal conditions, you would expect 30-40 minutes minimum on low level. First pass or not, the expectation of the devs is for breeding to be more work than taming, because the results can be so powerful over a couple generations. But what everyone seems to forget is that the original intent of this game is to be a 'tribe survival' game. Look this irks me too as I mostly play solo and at current rates, and possibly even after the 219.3 patch, its going to require hours of work to raise a baby to maturity.
